Wouters & Hendrix meets Rita co Rita
In 2000, we were asked to visualize what craftsmanship meant to us for the ‘Vitrine’ project in Antwerp. Connecting the art of silversmithing to that of knitwear, we designed a christening gown and partnered with Rita co Rita to handknit it in silver thread. Although Rita started off with great enthusiasm, it soon turned out to be quite the challenge to make the rigid silver thread obey the knitting needles. Many bloody fingertips and band-aids later, the dress came together beautifully. Up to this time, it is often on display in the Wouters & Hendrix boutique in Antwerp, highlighting the beautiful contrast between the fragility of a gown and the robustness of silver.
Three female artists meet 'le Rêve en Boîte'
Wouters & Hendrix' infinite fascination with creativity and craftsmanship led us to three female artists who each in their own way push the boundaries of their craft. They introduced 'Le Rêve en Boîte' into their own creative universes.
